Siaka Bah is currently the Director of Microfinance at the Central Bank of The Gambia, a development economist with over 20 years of experience in microfinance regulation, supervision, and poverty reduction strategies, a financial inclusion expert and the focal point for the implementation of National Financial Inclusion Strategy of the Gambia. His areas of focus are credit unions, finance companies, Village Savings and Credit Associations (VISACAs). Mr. Bah is also an adjunct lecturer with the University of the Gambia in the School of Arts and Sciences- Development Studies Unit and has taken courses in Population and Development, Development Planning and Development Economics respectively. As head of microfinance, Mr. Bah supports the central bank in the regulation and supervision of finance companies, VSLAs and credit unions to ensure the safety and soundness of the microfinance sector.
