Mercy Tumukunde (AADE, CUDE)

Mercy is an accomplished cooperative leader with over 20 years of experience in cooperative management and leadership. She serves as CEO of SteadFin Uganda SACCO Ltd and previously founded and led the Franciscan Investment Cooperative Society Ltd for a decade. A Certified Credit Union Development Educator (CUDE) and Advanced African Development Educator (AADE), she is a strong advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion in the cooperative movement. Mercy chairs the African Women in Cooperatives Network (AWCN) and mentors women leaders across Africa through ACCOSCA. A GWLN Scholar and CDF Canada mentee, she holds a Master’s in Management, a Postgraduate Diploma in Human Resource Management, and a Bachelor’s in Education (Economics). Her work embodies the cooperative principle of “People Helping People,” fostering inclusive growth and sustainable leadership.
