Max Villaronga is the President and CEO of Raiz, a billion-dollar credit union founded in 1936, serving over 77,000 members across 10 branches. Since 2014, he has led Raiz with a vision rooted in human dignity, emphasizing diversity, inclusion, equity, belonging, and accessibility as both moral imperatives and strategic strengths. Under his leadership, Raiz has expanded community lending, introduced innovative products for underserved populations, and supported numerous nonprofit initiatives through its Development Pillars-based foundation. A graduate of Texas A&M University and the University of Texas at Dallas, Max is a Certified Chief Executive (CCE) and Development Educator (DE). He chairs the Underserved Communities Foundation and the El Paso Symphony Orchestra, and has held leadership roles with CUNA, NLCUP, and the El Paso Chamber of Commerce.
