Khumbo Mtalika

Khumbo Mtalika is a Director, Capital Markets and Microfinance Supervision in the Reserve Bank of Malawi responsible for supervision of capital markets entities, microfinance institutions and financial cooperatives to promote sound and stable financial system since December 2023. She previously served as a Director, Financial Sector Regulation for three years responsible for licensing and exit of financial institutions; developing legislation; enforcement; financial education, consumer empowerment and protection. She has 28 years’ experience in prudential supervision of financial institutions, Anti-Money Laundering/Combating the Financing of Terrorism (AML/CFT) supervision and regulation. She holds a MSc. in Accounting and Finance from the University of Birmingham Business School in the United Kingdom and a Bachelor of Accountancy degree from the University of Malawi, Polytechnic.
