Berhanu Dufera Kebebew serves as the Chief Executive Officer for Financial Cooperative Development at the Ethiopian Cooperative Commission (ECC), where he has worked for over 14 years. His career spans leadership roles in the Ethiopian Cooperative Agency, including Director of the Financial Cooperative Development Directorate and Cooperative Inspection Expert. He has coordinated major cooperative programs, developed policies, directives, and training manuals supporting SACCOs and other cooperatives, and provided specialized training in areas such as financial marketing, microinsurance, and cooperative governance.

Berhanu has represented Ethiopia’s SACCO movement internationally and previously worked nine years in the agriculture and cooperative sectors. He holds an MBA from Debremarkos University and a BA in Cooperative Accounting and Auditing from Ambo University, complemented by international training in financial cooperatives. His work continues to strengthen Ethiopia’s cooperative ecosystem and promote inclusive economic development.
